On arrival in Istanbul patients and anyone travelling with them are met at the airport by one of our drivers, taken to their chosen accommodation and helped to settle in.

The following morning those patients who have not recently had a PET-CT scan are taken to a specialist scanning centre for one in order to accurately image the extent of their cancer. Following this they will have an initial evaluation with one of our doctors.

Treatment usually starts on the morning of the second full day In Istanbul and continues daily until the patient leaves (except Sundays). While in Istanbul one of our doctors is on call at all times and patients are monitored daily by one of our oncologists.

Most international patients choose to travel between their home countries and Turkey on a regular basis in order to allow them to continue to live as normal a life as possible, often spending half their time in Istanbul and half at home. However, for patients coming from further away this may not be practical and some move to Istanbul for the duration of their treatment.

During patients’ stays In Istanbul we do everything possible to make their stay in our beautiful city as pleasant and easy as possible. Those who have been to Istanbul before will know that it is a vibrant, dynamic city with a welcoming population and every comfort and convenience. For those for whom it is their first visit we recognize that coming to a strange city in a new country can at first appear daunting and our dedicated staff is on hand to assist with all aspects of their stay.

You can hear our patients talking about their experiences on our patient stories page.
