Prof. Didem Taştekin, M.D., graduated from Selçuk University Faculty of Medicine in 1992. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Atatürk University in Erzurum, later serving as an Internal Medicine specialist and Associate Dean at Kafkas University. She went on to complete her medical oncology fellowship at Selçuk University and continued her subspecialty training at the Istanbul University Oncology Institute.
Appointed as Associate Professor in 2012 and Professor in 2023, Prof. Taştekin has dedicated her career to improving outcomes for patients with a variety of cancers. Her main clinical and research interests include pancreatic and hepatocellular cancers, lung cancer, breast cancer, colon cancer and personalized treatment approaches. She has led and contributed to numerous national and international clinical trials and translational research projects, and supportive care in oncology.
Prof. Taştekin is the author or co-author of more than 50 peer-reviewed publications and recent book chapters on innovative concepts in medical oncology, including high-dose vitamin C, extracellular vesicles, and novel systemic treatment strategies. Her work has helped refine prognostic models, identify new biomarkers, and generate real-world evidence in cancers of the pancreas, stomach, liver, and colon.
Known for her compassionate, patient-centered approach, she is an active member of the Anatolian Society of Medical Oncology, the Turkish Society of Medical Oncology, ESMO, and ASCO. She remains committed to integrating cutting-edge science into daily practice to offer her patients individualized, evidence-based cancer care.
