Asst. Prof. Mehmet Salih İyikesici M.D.

Assistant Professor Mehmet Salih İyikesici M.D. completed his medical training at Uludag University, School of Medicine in Bursa, Turkey. He later completed his Internal Medicine residency at Haydarpasa State Hospital under the guidance of the Hematology-Oncology specialist, Professor Aydogan Albayrak M.D. He later completed his Medical Oncology residency program at Marmara University, School of Medicine in 2006.

At Marmara University, Dr. İyikesici worked with Professor N. Serdar Turhal M.D., Professor Gul Basaran M.D., Professor P. Fulden Yumuk M.D. and Associate Professor Faysal Dane M.D.

During his time at Marmara University and representative of the faculty’s high standards, Dr. İyikesici contributed to securing the first oncology quality certification in Turkey.

During the last term of his residency, Dr. İyikesici worked at Istanbul University, Institute of Oncology with Professor Sevil Bavbek M.D. and Professor Mert Basaran M.D.

Later, in 2008, he founded the Medical Oncology Department at Diyarbakır State Hospital, where he was appointed for mandatory service.

Dr. İyikesici has also received training in hyperthermia at centers in Germany and Switzerland.

Since 2010, Dr. İyikesici has been working with Professor F. Bulent Berkarda, M.D. on conventional and innovative treatment modalities in the field of oncology.

Prof. Bülent Berkarda M.D.

Professor Bulent Berkarda is the first medical oncologist in Turkey. He founded the Department of Medical Oncology at Istanbul University in 1974.
